The location of Villa Fontaine Tokyo-Ueno Okachimachi is perfect for exploring Tokyo. It's just a short walk to the Shin-Okachimachi subway station and within 10 minutes you can reach Okachimachi station on the Yamanote line. The hotel is also close to attractions like the Ueno Station, park, and zoo. Plus, the fast track to Narita airport is easily accessible. Our room on the top floor was quiet and we weren't bothered by any noise from outside or neighboring rooms. The wired internet connection was strong and we were able to enjoy BBC 24 on the TV. The neighborhood is lovely, with a local shop arcade and the famous Ameyoko market nearby. We especially enjoyed the friendly locals and the yaka tori bar just a few minutes away.

Celebrating New Year in Tokyo was the best decision I made. The hotel was in a key location that allowed me to easily explore the city and experience the different traditions. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast was definitely a plus and helped me save some money on my travels. Another great advantage was having a microwave in the room, which allowed me to heat up some meals I bought at local markets.
The room was smaller than what I expected, but it was still manageable for a short stay. The bed was a bit too hard for my liking, but I guess that's a common thing in Japan.

The hotel's location was not as close to Ueno station as I had initially thought, but it was still a convenient spot, with a Halal restaurant and train station within a short walk. the breakfast offered was decent, and some of the staff members were friendly. the beds were hard, but the rooms were clean and well-maintained.
The service staff was not up to par, with some being cold and unfriendly, and the amenities in the rooms were lacking, with basic features like storage space and comfortable chairs missing.
